When Robin said "no science today, we're doing art instead" the class groaned.
The were truly disappointed that we might be skipping science.
Robin had them sting UV sensitive beads and test them. Very cool.

Does old sunscreen block UV rays.
Nope.
If it's expired it probably is not protecting your skin.
We also tested cheap sunglasses verses expensive ones.
Target $15 sunglasses worked just as well as some mega expensive ones.

Travis testing out his UV beads.

Miss Katy was trying to be brave
during cow eye dissection until the smell overwhelmed her.

Grace and her UV ring.

Noelle and Ashlynn brought their mom, Brenda,
dad, Joel and big sister Sarah to help them with family presentation.
They also brought a cave to demonstrate how the monks might have lived.

Ashlynn and Noelle's dad, Joel, taught us about
eight of our history cards. Thank you!
Bo is showing off his UV bracelet.
Miss Robin taught the children about UV light using beads that absorb rays and turn colors.

Robin the Spanish Explorer.

Douglas and Justin snacking.
Apparently the best part of dissecting starfish was all of the fun
you could have posing for pictures.

Joseph.
Notice the difference between Joseph and his sister Clara, above.
Joseph and John Marc dissecting. I absolutely LOVE John Marc's sweater.
I play Beethoven on him every week that he wears it.

Teagan in Muscles in Motion.

Snack anyone? Justin, Christopher and Jason
enjoy a quick bite to eat.

We studied the Cape of Good Hope today. Jason has been there! He told us that you must be very cautious of baboons if you visit the beach as they are likely to steal your food and chase you.

Griffin is one of my favorite students.
Joseph.

In an earlier post I mentioned that Robert had summonsed her
mommy to help her with dissecting her starfish.
I love Roberta's body language.

My Anna.

Roberta after being told she is required to touch the starfish.
Jill is a ballet teacher. She was helping in the nursery this week while choreographing the Nutcracker. Talk about multitasking.

Bo is an explorer through and through.

Ashlynn making her solar system.

Noelle in her cave.
Click on Ashlynn or Noelle to see more pictures of their wonderful family presentation.

Bo the explorer skipcounting.
Joseph, Clara and Elinor are sleeping as part of their family play. When they wake up they find Christmas presents.

Soon after being given the presents Joseph and Clara begin to fight over their gifts. Robin, their mom, explains to them the meaning of Christmas. That we celebrate Christmas to say thank you to God for allowing His Son to come to us.

Their daddy, Paul, played role of Jesus on the cross.

This was my favorite part of their family play. When Paul came back from the dead his children forgot about their play and ran to their daddy. Much like God wants us to run to Him. It was absolutely beautiful.

Paul not only crafted each of the rocket launchers for our group but he also made the projector apparatus that enabled us to see the cow eye dissection on a big screen as we worked on our individual eyes. Thank you Paul, you have blessed our group.
Logan. Looking good.

Collin loves homeschooling.

Jordan, looking sweet.

Kim and Lynnea.
Miss Jen teaches us tin whistle.
She has made posters to help us to learn to read music and placement of our fingers.

Great job Jordan!

Amy is an excellent tin whistler.

Annabelle at work on her solar system.
Anya and Elizabeth working on there solar systems. Anya wanted to get hers just right.
Clara is very into her solar system.
