Football
The students play football after CC on sunny days. I love how much Brian enjoys playing and his sister Amanda is an incredible player. The boys are usually willing to tackle him twice -- upon his request.
Electricity
,Mrs. W. taught us about Electricity for the last two weeks. She did an absolutely fabulous job teaching us new grammar and helping us make radios, fans, and speakers that work. We used a snap circuit set for most of the experiments.
Isaac taught the fifth and sixth graders using his more advanced kit. He did a great job!

Michaelangelo
We studied Michaelangelo this morning and made frescoes. Mr. P. made plaster and we used different viciousness of plaster to determine the best with paint. The younger children's was too runny and the older's too hard. Several students were very generous with their paint.
Jack and Claire, fantastic fresco painters!
Boaz chose all red.
Beatrice started just painting but then added more and more paint. She's an expert fresco painter!

First Day of Reston CC
Miss Donna and Grace presented Genesis 1 for opening. Miss Donna read while Grace performed. They blessed us greatly. Both Miss Donna and Grace are beautiful singers as well as dancers. They have blessed us throughout the year with their gifts.
Reston CC was borne of much prayer by Mrs. B and Mrs. G. we wanted to thank God first for this program.
Mrs. M. on our first day! Mrs. M. teaches at two CC's. We are blessed to know her and that she is teaching our children.
September 10, 2009 Why dead fish float
We studied microorganisms and bacteria today in the context of why fish float after they die. We mixed warm water, yeast and sugar in ziploc bags that Mrs. B had drawn fish on and then placed them in a trough of water. As the day progressed, we checked on our "dead fish" and watched them bloat and eventually float.

Miss Michelle the Sweet.
Who could ask for better friends than these?
Christopher and Logan share a smile.
Mrs. M. and Mrs. B explain the concept of bacteria in a fish's body. The same bacteria that keeps them alive helps to decompose their bodies after they die.
