What are you doing this summer?

Jack, Boaz and Douglas learned an economics lesson by visiting a Friday garage sale. They bought wetsuits for $10 each. Why wait for water when you have a perfectly good wetsuit to wear? They also took turns "driving" my huge pickup.

British General Douglas dramatically died several times during our presentation.

The forces of General Washington and the British General Douglas met
on the pergo of Cedar Run. Each man chose his troops, knowing
who was loyal based on the color of their clothing.
A fierce battle ensued, leaving many wounded.

"the British are coming, the British are coming!"

British General Douglas examined the colonists to see if any could be made into loyal troops. There were few, but General Douglas trained them into warriors.

Our masters class locked arms today and tried to pass a hula hoop
around their circle. Team building? I'm not sure. They seemed to have plenty of fun!

When Robin said "no science today, we're doing art instead" the class groaned.
The were truly disappointed that we might be skipping science.
Robin had them sting UV sensitive beads and test them. Very cool.

Does old sunscreen block UV rays.
Nope.
If it's expired it probably is not protecting your skin.
We also tested cheap sunglasses verses expensive ones.
Target $15 sunglasses worked just as well as some mega expensive ones.

ok, we love Douglas... but this morning he came hobbling into CC using a cane. Yes, a cane. He claimed that he was severely saddle sore from horseback riding the previous day.

He DID ride the day before. For an hour and a half. Not a particularly difficult ride in my mind but apparently enough to warrant the cane and hobble.


This is Mr. Hobble right after CC started. Yep, that's him below, dancing with the cane. The kicker is that after this short reprieve from obvious pain he hobbled off to his class. Poor Douglas, after giving me the hound dog eyes to use the elevator it took him at least five minutes to hop up the stairs, gripping the railing and wincing in pain as he went.

Charlemange Collin visited the Vatican on Christmas Day.

Collin brought both of his parents today.
Pope Collin's Daddy crowned Charlemange Collin Holy Roman Emperor of Europe.
