Da Vinci was known for his facinating ability see an ordinary object differently and in a revolutionary light. He routinely drew , dissected and peered into animals in such depth that he gained understandings that even today surpass our base of knowledge.
In her attempt to demonstrate a new way of seeing the ordinary, Mrs. G. discussed the Mud People of Los Angeles. Her sister and she had read about these people when they were children. The mud people are doctors, lawyers, office workers, etc. , just folks living in LA. They cover themselves in mud and then slowly walk around LA "discovering" as if they were primative, speech-less people .
Our CC "discovered " a soft textured item with four hard legs and a cold spine. It did not move or show emotion but our students were timid in their approach, sensing this object may make a sudden move or be dangerous. Fortunately none of our children were hurt by the object... this time.
