Jessica dissected a tape.

Dissecting a camera is hard work. There are several layers that can be pulled apart manually and then once the screws are removed there are layers upon layers of electronics. This must have been da Vinci's experience with animals. Wouldn't it have been amazing to see what da Vinci would have discovered with an electron microscope?

Travis was the best dissector. He took the job very seriously.

MIM
Dianne Craft, www.diannecraft.org, is an occupational therapist who believes homeschool moms can do most therapy at home. We copied one of her ideas to learn the correct forms of letters in a BIG way today! Noah is walking out his name.
Brian walked out his whole name!
Sometimes you can see things more clearly from higher up. Justin taught Nathan how to walk out his name while piggyback riding.

MIM
Miss Donna had us relay race using sponges and buckets. We soaked our sponges, ran to the next bucket and squeezed them out. This used our thinking skills, fine and gross motor and allowed us to enjoy a beautiful afternoon in the sunshine. Thank you Miss Donna.

7 Wonders
Can you sing the song?
The seven wonders of the ancient world are the Colossus of Rhodes, the Great Pyramids, Mausoleum, Temple of Artemis. The Haaaaannnnging Gardens , Pharaoh's Lighthouse and the Statute of Zeus oooohhhhh.
We each drew one of the seven wonders after singing the song with the hand motions.

Muscles in Motion IV
A new look for our moms? Miss Donna was helping the children improve their fine motor skills today. We used clothes pens to clip fabric onto moms. The look may become the next fashion statement! We'll call it recession wear. Have a tear or a stain? Just switch around the clothes pin and cover it!....or not.
Dispersion
Lisandrea, Jana, Diane and Nancy acted out a fat molecule that becomes emulsified by soap today. Our brilliant moms, lead by Jana, locked arms as a happy fat molecule. Then the dressed-in-black soap, Nancy, brust through their happy molecule and sent the moms out into the vast bowl of milk. A truly Emmy-worthy performance.

Dispersion
We discussed dispersion today. We first poured milk into plates and dropped spots of food coloring into the milk. We observed that the food coloring did not disperse but stayed in colorful blobs in the milk. Then we dropped one drop of dish soap into our plates. Instantly the fat molecules in the milk dispersed allowing the water-based food color to move around the whole plate, mix with the other blobs of color and form ribbons and designs in our plates!

Michaelangelo's Sistine Chapel
Travis did an excellent job using Michaelangelo's technique of painting on his back.

Daniel drew this while on his back. An incredible job considering the chalk dust that landed in his eyes.
